Recoup, Inc. is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Legal services connected to a claim, where applicable, are provided by independent counsel affiliated with Recoup under a separate engagement between you and that counsel.

Litigation funding is not an investment

A litigation-fund contribution is not an investment, security, or loan, and does not entitle you to a fixed or promised return. Contributions fund the cost of case investigation and litigation. Any recovery is distributed per the court's order, an approved settlement, or the Claimant Agreement, never in proportion to, or as a promised return on, your contribution amount.

No guaranteed recovery

We do not and cannot guarantee that any case will result in a recovery, that responsible parties will be identified, or that identified parties will have assets available to satisfy a judgment. Blockchain-based fraud investigations are frequently limited by the anonymity of the parties involved and the jurisdictions they operate from.

Success fees

The success fee disclosed at each contribution tier (25% for Recovery Basic down to 10–15% negotiable for Recovery Partner) applies only to funds actually recovered on your behalf. If nothing is recovered, no success fee is owed, but your original contribution, which funded the litigation effort, is not refunded.

Automated case assessment

The “Strong / Moderate / Needs More Evidence” assessment shown at Stage 9 of intake is an automated, preliminary read based on four criteria you can see on the assessment page. It is not a legal opinion, does not predict the outcome of any legal proceeding, and is not performed or reviewed by an attorney.

Trust dashboard figures

Figures on the public trust dashboard (aggregate losses, claimant count, wallets under investigation, fund balance, active investigations) are computed live from claimant submissions and confirmed contributions in our database. They are aggregate and non-identifying. No individual case is disclosed.
