Legal
Claimant Agreement
Last updated September 2026
This is the agreement you sign electronically at Stage 10 of the intake process, when you join a case as an official claimant. It's reproduced here in full so you can read it before you get there.
1. Authorization
By signing, you authorize Recoup to include the evidence and information you've submitted in a collective investigation and, where applicable, in legal proceedings brought by affiliated counsel against the parties identified in your case.
2. Grouping with other claimants
Your case may be combined with other claimants affected by the same project into a single collective action. Combining claims is generally what makes pursuing a rug-pull operator practical because it spreads the cost of investigation and litigation across everyone affected.
3. Distribution of any recovery
If the collective action results in a judgment or settlement, any recovered funds are distributed according to:
- the court's order, where litigation reaches judgment;
- the terms of an approved settlement agreement, where the case settles; and
- this Claimant Agreement, for the mechanics of how a distribution is administered among claimants.
Distribution is never based on litigation-fund contribution tier. Your success fee (the percentage taken from your share of any recovery) is set by the tier you selected at contribution and is disclosed to you before you contribute.
4. Your obligations
You agree to respond to reasonable requests for additional information or documentation from Recoup or affiliated counsel, and to keep your contact information current.
5. Withdrawal
You may withdraw from a collective action before it is formally filed by contacting us in writing. Withdrawal after filing may be subject to court procedure and the terms of any engagement with affiliated counsel.
6. No guarantee
As stated throughout this platform: joining as a claimant does not guarantee a legal outcome or recovery amount.
